How to share a Knoema dashboard or dataset

A Knoema dashboard can be either Public or Private. Public dashboards are available to anyone who has the link. Private dashboards are only available to users you explicitly grant access to. By default, dashboards are Private.

Follow the steps below to make your dashboard Public or to share it with specific Knoema users. First, login to Knoema and open a dashboard you would like to share.

How to make a dashboard public

  1. Click the Share button on the toolbar.
  2. Select Public from the drop-down menu.

How to share a private dashboard and to manage advanced permissions

  1. Click the Share button on the toolbar.
2. Ensure the dashboard is set to Private, then click Sharing options.

  1. In the dialog that appears, choose the way you would like to list users. You can explicitly list email addresses or invite your friends from Facebook, Twitter or Google+. In this example, we will use a list of email addresses.
  2. Type or copy-and-paste the email addresses of the people you want to grant access to, separating each address with a comma.  (For example: "sarah@example,com, john@example.com")
3. Select the Access Level you want these people to have. Use Read if you do not want users to be allowed to edit your dashboard; use Edit if you expect users to edit the dashboard content such as a chart appearance and parameterization, layout, etc. Full control will allow users to change sharing options.
  4. Click the Notify Users checkbox if you would like Knoema to send email notifications to the people you're granting access to, with a direct link to the dashboard.
  5. Click the Add button.
  6. Click the Apply button to grant access.
